He explained to <b>CoinDesk<\/b>:<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><i>&#8220;What we\u2019re doing with blockchain and devices is enabling the information those devices supply to effect the blockchain\u2026You begin to approach the kind of things we see in movies.&#8221;<\/i><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The blockchain applications will include the possibility to allow devices to perform tasks at a certain set time.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Also, the devices wil be registered on the blockchain and &#8211; thanks to smart contracts &#8211; different types of access will be created, allowing lots of functionalities and customization.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">For example, thanks to the blockchain, Watson software could be updated remotely.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><i>&#8220;You better be ready to actively update your devices throughout the lifecycle of your devices. Vulnerabilities will be discovered long after the device is released\u201d<\/i>, commented Hahn.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Unfortunately Watson is still in a development phase and we don\u2019t have more details about this disruptive invention.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><i>\u201cIts early days and we\u2019re just playing around with prototypes now\u201d<\/i>, explained Hahn.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">IBM invests in the Internet of Things<\/h3>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">It was March when IBM announced its decision to invest $3bn to build an entire office that would be dedicated to the Internet of Things (IoT), or the smart connection between devices and Internet.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">In a press release IBM explained that the company predicted to earn $235bn by the end of 2016 and an increase of 22% from 2014.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The statement also predicted 6.4 billion devices that will be used worldwide within the end of 2016, an amount that will reach 20.8 billion in 2020.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Previous statement<\/h3>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/holytransaction.com\/blog\/2016\/02\/were-all-in-on-blockchain-says-ibm.html\">On February IBM Director John Wolper said \u201cwe\u2019re all in on blockchain\u201d during Blockchain conference held in San Francisco.\u00a0<\/a><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">IBM, in fact, is also working on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hyperledger.org\/\">Hyperledger Project<\/a>, an open-source blockchain led by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linuxfoundation.org\/\">The Linux Foundation<\/a>.
