The news was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/id\/101220710\">announced by Branson himself<\/a> on CNBC\u2019s show \u201cSquawk Box\u201d.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The entrepreneur awoke the community\u2019s curiosity when he <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/richardbranson\">tweeted the following message<\/a>, this Friday (22), before the interview.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\" href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinexaminer.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/gdfg1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bitcoinexaminer.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/gdfg1.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"191\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the entrepreneur, <strong>Virgin Galactic already accepted its first purchase made with this\u00a0\u201dnew exciting currency\u201d<\/strong>,<br \/>\nBranson said. The lucky space traveler is\u00a0a flight attendant from<br \/>\nHawaii. Apparently, the woman made \u201cquite a lot of money getting into<br \/>\nBitcoin early on\u201d, he told CNBC.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The client bought the trip with Bitcoin<br \/>\nand then Virgin Galactic converted the amount into US dollars,<br \/>\nspecifically $250,000. \u201cThere\u2019s a fixed price [and] we can actually pay<br \/>\nher money back, if she changes her mind about going to space in a few<br \/>\nmonths\u201d.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">After the interview, <a href=\"https:\/\/holytransaction.com\/blog\/2016\/06\/the-newest-richard-bransons-blockchain.html\">Richard Branson<\/a> tweeted two more Bitcoin-themed messages.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Actually, during the Skype talk with CNBC,<strong> the entrepreneur revealed he was also an\u00a0early Bitcoin investor<\/strong><br \/>\nand\u00a0is holding on for the long-term. \u201cI have invested in some Bitcoins<br \/>\nmyself and find it fascinating how a whole new global currency has been<br \/>\ncreated\u201d, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.virgin.com\/richard-branson\/bitcoins-in-space\">he wrote on Virgin\u2019s website<\/a>.\u00a0Brason even compared the virtual coin with his own business.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The entrepreneur also focuses regulation on Virgin\u2019s website: \u201cBitcoins<br \/>\naren\u2019t yet formally recognized by governments as a currency, but <strong>with some regulation I hope that it will become more widely accepted<\/strong>.<br \/>\nA few years ago many people had doubts about whether Virgin Galactic<br \/>\nwould ever get off the ground.
