{"id":2587,"date":"2017-07-27T08:15:29","date_gmt":"2017-07-27T08:15:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/holytransaction.com\/blog\/?p=2587"},"modified":"2020-09-12T19:21:50","modified_gmt":"2020-09-12T17:21:50","slug":"bitcoin-cash-position","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/holytransaction.com\/blog\/2017\/07\/bitcoin-cash-position.html","title":{"rendered":"Bitcoin Cash: HolyTransaction shares its position about the fork"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tomorrow is August 1st, the long-awaited date for the <strong>Bitcoin-blockchain upgrade.\u00a0<\/strong>That&#8217;s why you are asking us: what&#8217;s about HolyTransaction and <strong>Bitcoin Cash<\/strong>?<\/p>\n<p>This upgrade, in fact, will cause a\u00a0hard fork and so the creation of a new chain (and so a new digital currency) called Bitcoin Cash. This will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Increase the block size to 8 MB;<\/li>\n<li>Remove SegWit, a code change that might activate on the bitcoin blockchain by the end of August.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>HolyTransaction and Bitcoin Cash<\/h2>\n<p>So, our users are asking if HolyTransaction will support Bitcoin Cash within the multicurrency wallet.<\/p>\n<p>HolyTransaction, in fact, would like to announce that should UAHF choose to increase the Bitcoin block size on August 1st, our customer platform <strong>will not support the new <\/strong>blockchain<strong> or coin<\/strong> on that date.<\/p>\n<p>Due to technical complexities, time and quality assurance needed to implement a second bitcoin ruleset and blockchain we will not support it.<\/p>\n<p>We currently consider Bitcoin Cash as another cryptocurrency, though Bitcoin Cash&#8217;s transaction history would be the same as bitcoin&#8217;s .<\/p>\n<h2><strong>HolyTransaction supports UASF<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>A few days ago, we shared a blog post in support of UASF or\u00a0<strong>User Activated Soft Fork<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It is a system for the activation of a <strong>soft fork<\/strong> that might occur\u00a0on a specified time enforced by full nodes, a concept that is also called\u00a0<em>\u201ceconomic majority\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>In the past years, a UASF was successfully developed to activate the P2SH soft fork (BIP16).<\/p>\n<p>Instead, currently, the UASF is combined with the so-called\u00a0<strong>SegWit activation<\/strong>\u00a0in the BIP148 <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/bitcoin\/bips\/blob\/master\/bip-0148.mediawiki\">proposal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/holytransaction.com\/blog\/2017\/07\/uasf-bitcoin-crypto-guide.html\">Click here to read more about UASF.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>We know that some users are curious to see what happens with Bitcoin Cash, but we are currently not supporting this altcoin.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s see what happen and happy trading!<\/p>\n<p>Open your free digital wallet <a href=\"https:\/\/holytransaction.com\/app#!\/signup\">here<\/a> to store your cryptocurrencies in a safe place.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tomorrow is August 1st, the long-awaited date for the Bitcoin-blockchain upgrade.\u00a0That&#8217;s why you are asking us: what&#8217;s about HolyTransaction and Bitcoin Cash?
