\n(CoinTelegraph<\/a>) Bitcoin evangelist, libertarian and millionaire Roger Ver thinks that
\nBitcoin’s limited growth can stop governments from raging wars across
\nthe world. <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nVer gave a speech at Coin Congress in
\nSingapore back in May entitled \u201cWhy Bitcoin is Important for the World.\u201d
\n It was a sort of quick introduction into the world of Bitcoin, until
\nVer used the last few minutes in his speech to \u201crant about what has
\n[him] most excited about how Bitcoin is going to change the world for
\nthe better.\u201d <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nVer, who runs what was one of the first<\/a> mainstream sites to take bitcoin payments, MemoryDealers<\/a>, said that fiat currency was to blame for Governments’ (like his own United States) penchant for raging wars overseas. <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nVer
\n said that \u201cNot only do they control [fiat], they can print as much of
\nit as they want at any time. . . I see the United States Government
\nprinting money like crazy and then they use that money to buy all sorts
\nof tanks and bombs and airplanes and murder people all over the world. .
\n . all that is being paid for by printing money.\u201d <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n\u201cWith
\n Bitcoin,\u201d Ver continued \u201cbecause there is a limited supply, that sort
\nof thing can’t happen.\u201d Ver hopes that Bitcoin’s inability to be printed
\n at will, will prevent governments from using printed money to fund
\nwarfare. <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nVer sees a world that uses Bitcoin as one that is \u201cmuch safer\u201d for every individual on the planet. <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nBitcoin’s
\n possible effect on world peace is something we won’t know until if and
\nwhen it obtains true widespread adoption. But it is true that Bitcoin
\ncan’t be printed out of thin air due to a limited supply. If a
\ngovernment used it as legal tender then they would have to find a
\ndifferent way to fund any war.<\/p>\n
