Further, the bitcoins have already been<br \/>\ntransferred to the winner, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/blockchain.info\/address\/1Ez69SnzzmePmZX3WpEzMKTrcBF2gpNQ55\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Blockchain<\/a>.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The USMS\u00a0previously said that it would begin notifying bidders as to<br \/>\nwhether they had secured any of the blocks on 30th June. The auction<br \/>\ntook place on Friday, 27th June over a 12-hour span.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">In a statement, the USMS said:<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe US Marshals Bitcoin auction resulted in one winning<br \/>\nbidder. The transfer of the bitcoins to the winner was completed today.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The auction was structured into 10 blocks, with the first nine consisting of 3,000 BTC and the last one featuring <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/price\/\">2,656.51306529 BTC<\/a>.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Results trickle in<\/h2>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The news follows an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/us-marshals-release-new-data-silk-road-bitcoin-auction\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">earlier announcement<\/a><br \/>\nfrom the USMS on 30th June, when the agency said that 45 registered<br \/>\nbidders took part in the process. At the time, the federal agency didn\u2019t<br \/>\nhave a clear number on the final amount of winning bids.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The USMS\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/18-million-worth-of-silk-road-bitcoin-to-be-sold-by-us-government\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">released<\/a>\u00a0the<br \/>\nauction date and procedural details last month. At the time, the<br \/>\nfederal agency outlined how participants could express interest in the<br \/>\nroughly $18 million worth of <a href=\"https:\/\/holytransaction.com\/page\/what-is-bitcoin\">bitcoin<\/a>.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Since then, a number of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/barry-silbert-data-secondmarket-us-marshal-auction-syndicate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">key bidders<\/a>,<br \/>\nincluding SecondMarket founder and CEO Barry Silbert, have outlined<br \/>\ntheir participation in the auction. Silbert later announced via Twitter<br \/>\nthat his auction syndicate, which consisted of 42 bidders for a total of<br \/>\n186 bids, was outbid on every bitcoin block.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The syndicate formed just part of a broader pool of known or possible bidders, a number of which were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/list-possible-silk-road-bitcoin-bidders-allegedly-leaked-us-marshals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">inadvertently released<\/a><br \/>\nby the USMS.
