{"id":1781,"date":"2016-12-21T14:31:44","date_gmt":"2016-12-21T14:31:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.holytransaction.com\/?p=1781"},"modified":"2021-07-17T04:18:46","modified_gmt":"2021-07-17T02:18:46","slug":"france-bitcoin-test","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/holytransaction.com\/blog\/2016\/12\/france-bitcoin-test.html","title":{"rendered":"France Bitcoin Tests by the Central Bank"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>France Bitcoin tests<\/strong> have been revealed by the French Central Bank last week.<\/p>\n<p>The Banque de France published a press release<a href=\"https:\/\/www.banque-france.fr\/sites\/default\/files\/medias\/documents\/communique-de-presse_2016-12-15_la-banque-de-france-mene-une-experimentation-de-blockchain-interbancaire.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u00a0on Friday<\/a>\u00a0where it talks about its technology tests for \u00a0use in the management of <strong>SEPA Credit Identifiers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the French central bank, one of the key participants in this project is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.caissedesdepots.fr\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Caisse des D\u00e9p\u00f4ts et Consignations<\/a>, and the Paris-based startup called Labo Blockchain.<\/p>\n<p>The project began in July 2016 and culminated in October with the creation of prototypes for creating and managing SEPA Credit Identifiers.<\/p>\n<p>The central bank also explained how meetings were held with stakeholders as the project moved forward, indicating that more details about the project will be revealed in 2017.<\/p>\n<h2>France Bitcoin project and more central bank efforts<\/h2>\n<p>This is not the first time a \u00a0central bank test the distributed ledger.<\/p>\n<p>A few months ago, in fact, central banks in Japan, Sweden\u00a0and Singapore launched similar projects.<\/p>\n<p>Also, earlier this month, the US Federal Reserve published its first major <a href=\"https:\/\/holytransaction.com\/blog\/2016\/12\/us-federal-reserve-blockchain-paper-read.html\">research paper on the ledger you can read here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Credits: Coindesk.com<\/p>\n<p>Open your free digital wallet <a href=\"https:\/\/holytransaction.com\/app#!\/signup\">here<\/a> to store your cryptocurrencies in a safe place.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>France Bitcoin tests have been revealed by the French Central Bank last week.
