{"id":1729,"date":"2016-11-29T12:50:31","date_gmt":"2016-11-29T12:50:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.holytransaction.com\/?p=1729"},"modified":"2020-11-09T06:28:51","modified_gmt":"2020-11-09T04:28:51","slug":"ernst-and-young-bitcoin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/holytransaction.com\/blog\/2016\/11\/ernst-and-young-bitcoin.html","title":{"rendered":"Ernst and Young Bitcoin accepted in Switzerland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Ernst and Young Bitcoin<\/strong>: \u00a0the Swiss branch\u00a0of global professional services firm <strong>will accept the cryptocurrency-kind of payment next year.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Starting <strong>in January,<\/strong> Ernst and Young Switzerland will allow bitcoin for invoice payments, as the company\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ey.com\/Publication\/vwLUAssets\/ey-news-release-switzerland-accepts-bitcoins-for-payment-of-its-services\/$FILE\/ey-news-release-switzerland-accepts-bitcoins-for-payment-of-its-services.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">explained<\/a>\u00a0in a new press release.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Switzerland, Ernst and Young Bitcoin: a profitable relationship<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Swiss firm will also open <strong>a new BTM (or Bitcoin ATM)<\/strong> at its office in Zurich, as well as a wallet option for its employees.<\/p>\n<p>This Ernst and Young project is part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/lholytransaction.com\/blog\/2016\/11\/switzerland-bitcoin-regulation.html\">bigger cultural experiment on bitcoin and the distributed ledger conducted in Switzerland.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Late last month, in fact, Swiss railway service announced that it will sell bitcoin on its nationwide network of ticket kiosks; also the Swiss town called <a href=\"https:\/\/holytransaction.com\/blog\/2016\/05\/switzerland-to-accept-bitcoin-for.html\">Zug will accept Bitcoin for public services payments<\/a>, as its major explained back in May.<\/p>\n<p>According to Ernst and Young, this launch fits perfectly with this experimental context created in the Swiss country.<\/p>\n<p>Switzerland\u2019s CEO, <strong>Marcel Stalder<\/strong>, commented that the company wants its employees to know digital currencies and the blockchain. \u00a0This project is to provide ways to access a hands-on education, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Stalder explained:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>\u201cWe don\u2019t only want to talk about digitalization, but also actively drive this process together with our employees and our clients.
