In fact, according to a report, <strong>the amount of notes in circulation has declined 40% since 2009.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sweden Digital Currency and other solutions<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Deputy governor <strong>Cecilia Skingsley<\/strong>\u00a0commented that the central bank wants to test various technologies. Although she did not mention blockchain drectly, the <i>Financial Times <\/i>explained that\u00a0the distributed ledger might be one of the options the <a href=\"https:\/\/holytransaction.com\/blog\/2014\/06\/swedish-central-bank-bitcoin.html\">Sweden bank<\/a> could consider.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>&#8220;We need to do the homework because it\u2019s not an option for the public sector to stay on the sidelines and see the private sector cut off access to central bank money for individuals.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Skingsley said that the <strong>digital currency could be issued together with banknotes and coins<\/strong>, but the Riksbank do not want to encourage illegal activity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Tomorrow<\/strong> <strong>Skingsley will give a speech<\/strong> and he might explain more details about the Sweden Digital Currency project.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With this announcement, <strong>Sweden will become the latest country to have its own central bank considering to issue a new digital currency<\/strong>, an idea that for the greatest part of nations meant doing several reseatches related to blockchain-based cryptocurrencies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the latest few months, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bankofengland.co.uk\/\">Bank of England<\/a> has started to discuss and test issuing its own digital currency using the blockchain; and the <strong>People&#8217;s Bank of China<\/strong> is\u00a0investigating the idea too.<\/p>\n<p>Open your free digital wallet <a href=\"https:\/\/holytransaction.com\/app#!\/signup\">here<\/a> to store your cryptocurrencies in a safe place.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today I want to talk about the new Sweden Digital Currency project.
