{"id":1619,"date":"2016-10-27T15:38:37","date_gmt":"2016-10-27T15:38:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.holytransaction.com\/?p=1619"},"modified":"2020-11-22T02:47:34","modified_gmt":"2020-11-22T00:47:34","slug":"overstock-blockchain-stock","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/holytransaction.com\/blog\/2016\/10\/overstock-blockchain-stock.html","title":{"rendered":"OverStock Blockchain Stock to open soon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Overstock Blockchain<\/strong> Stock will begin its work in <strong>December<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Patrick Byrne<\/strong>, CEO at Overstock, revealed this news today at <strong>Money2020<\/strong>, explaining how investors will be able to partecipate to the shares release, as well as the key dates involved in this process.<\/p>\n<p>The initial sale will done as a rights offering, so interested investors will have to hold Overstock stock within 7th November in order to be eligible to receive shares on 10th\u00a0November.<\/p>\n<p>Then, on 15th November, a subscription period will open, when investors will be able to decide whether they want to take part to the offering.<\/p>\n<p>During his speech, Byrne explained:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>&#8220;Given our T+3 settlement, you will be a record holder by 10th November&#8230; If all goes well, it could be trading by 15th December.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The announcement comes just a few days after Overstock cryptocurrency group general manager <strong>Judd Bagley<\/strong> revealed\u00a0an upcoming news\u00a0during a panel session on capital markets. In fact, Byrne suggested that news would be announced in August when he returned to a leadership role at the Overstock company.<\/p>\n<p>Also, Byrne said he believes that the distributed ledger could be a <strong>more disruptive force than the Internet<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;My allegiance is not to bitcoin, but the blockchain.
