{"id":14,"date":"2016-06-01T17:11:00","date_gmt":"2016-06-01T17:11:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.holytransaction.com\/microsoft-to-launch-identity-platfor\/"},"modified":"2021-07-17T04:58:01","modified_gmt":"2021-07-17T02:58:01","slug":"microsoft-to-launch-identity-platform","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/holytransaction.com\/blog\/2016\/06\/microsoft-to-launch-identity-platform.html","title":{"rendered":"Microsoft to launch an identity platform through the blockchain"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The well-known tech giant\u00a0<b>Microsoft<\/b>\u00a0recently started a partnership with <b>Blockstack Labs<\/b> and <b>ConsenSys<\/b> to create an open-source platform to integrate both the Bitcoin and Ethereum blockchains.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">In today&#8217;s blog post <a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/blog\/what-does-identity-mean-in-today-s-physical-and-digital-world\/\">published<\/a> by Microsoft blockchain business strategist <b>Yorke Rhodes III<\/b>, in fact, he explained that the company will create an open source framework on Azure, where developers can build their own identity applications.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><i><i>\u201cMicrosoft is collaborating with partners <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stacks.co\/\">Blockstack Labs<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.consensys.net\/\">ConsenSys<\/a>, and developers across the globe on an open source, self-sovereign, blockchain-based identity system that allows people, products, apps, and services to interoperate across blockchains, cloud providers, and organizations. Our goal in contributing to this initiative is to start a conversation on blockchain-based identity that could improve apps, services, and more importantly, the lives of real people worldwide by enabling self-owned or self-sovereign identity\u201d.<\/i><\/i><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The possibility to connect this platform to both the Ethereum and the Bitcoin blockchain will take place thanks to <b>Blockstack<\/b> and <b>uPort<\/b> systems.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">This partnership started during the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.id2020.org\/\">ID2020 Summit <\/a>held in New York a few weeks ago.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to Rhodes, a first version of this framework will be launched <b>within the end of the summer on the Azure platform.\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Identity Problem in the Digital World<\/h3>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4392 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/holytransaction.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/hand-stamp.jpeg\" alt=\"identity platform blockchain\" width=\"240\" height=\"320\" \/><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the post published by Rhodes, <b>1.5 billion people don\u2019t have a proper identification<\/b>.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">And this makes it difficult for them to have a bank account or access to education and more services.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">1.5B people are without proper identification, that&#8217;s one-fifth of the world\u2019s population.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">One in three children under the age of five does not officially exist because their birth has not been recorded.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cumulatively, 230M children under the age of five have no birth certificate; this number is growing.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">50M children are born without legal identity, the size of the UK, each year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Open your free digital wallet <a href=\"https:\/\/holytransaction.com\/app#!\/signup\">here<\/a> to store your cryptocurrencies in a safe place.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The well-known tech giant\u00a0Microsoft\u00a0recently started a partnership with Blockstack Labs and ConsenSys to create an open-source platform to integrate both the Bitcoin and Ethereum blockchains.
